Siquijor – like a fish in water ;)

This time I will tell you about cock-fighting and scuba-diving in the Phillipines, Siquijor island…

I don’t have a PADI certificate yet, but I hope to make it soon 馃檪 This is my dream! But before we start diving I want to tell you about some other things, different than that about which I wrote in my previous posts from Siquijor: Siquijor fish eating my hands, Siquijor – motorbiking in witch island. Driving around the island we also saw a beautiful mangrove forest and the butterfly farm. The butterflies were beautiful, but the most beautiful were black and red caterpillars.

Nie mam jeszcze uprawnie艅 Padi, ale mo偶e nied艂ugo uda mi si臋 zrobi膰 馃檪 Takie mam marzenie! Ale zanim opowiem o nurkowaniu, to chc臋 Wam pokaza膰, 偶e opr贸cz rzeczy, o kt贸rych pisa艂em w poprzednich postach o Siquijor:聽Siquijor fish eating my hands, Siquijor – motorbiking in witch island. Mo偶na tam zobaczy膰 jeszcze pi臋kny las mangrowcowy i farm臋 motyli. Motyle by艂y s艂odkie, ale dla mnie najfajniejsze by艂y wielkie czarno-czerwone g膮siennice. Ale one wygl膮daj膮, no nie?

Of course, like everywhere in the Phillipines, on Siquijor you can see cock-fights, too. We saw them in one of the villages when we stopped to eat something. We looked around and saw a huge crowd of people on the hill. They were shouting, making funny moves with their hands and so on. We didn’t know what was the matter. Maybe a festival? When we got there i couldn’t see anything because it was so crowded. One of the men took me with him and we went in front. I was a little bit afraid that it will be bloody… Luckily, when one of the cocks was stronger and started to win, they stopped the fight. So they were not hurt. Ufff…

My艣leli艣my, 偶e to mo偶e jaka艣 uroczysto艣膰. Jak doszed艂em,聽to trudno by艂o mi cokolwiek zobaczy膰, bo taki by艂 t艂um. Ale聽Pan, kt贸ry tam sta艂, zabra艂 mnie ze sob膮 i przeszli艣my do przodu. Ba艂em si臋 troch臋, 偶e b臋dzie to krwawe. Na szcz臋艣cie walka by艂a przerywana, jak tylko kt贸ry艣 z kogut贸w zacz膮艂 zwyci臋偶a膰 i by艂 silniejszy. Dzi臋ki temu nic im si臋 nie sta艂o. Ufff…

And now the best鈥 diving! In Siquijor we were in a place where there were diving courses. I took a 鈥淒iscover Scuba鈥 course. First I had to put on a special suit because the water was cold and it makes you warm. Of course there was a mask, bottle, fins, boots, jacket (you have all the diving things there), air indicator (you can see there how much air you have), weight belt (you can be under water because you have it), octo (you are breathing with it). And there are so many other things like knife or a computer but those are this basic ones.

A na koniec najlepsze鈥 nurkowanie! Na Siquijorze znale藕li艣my miejsce, gdzie by艂y kursy nurkowe. Ja zrobi艂em kurs 鈥濪iscover Scuba鈥. Oczywi艣cie by艂a te偶 maska, butla, p艂etwy, buty, 鈥瀓acket鈥 (kamizelka, dzi臋ki kt贸rej nurkujesz i do kt贸rej przymocowany jest ca艂y sprz臋t nurkowy), wska藕nik powietrza (na kt贸rym sprawdzasz, ile masz powietrza w butli), pas z ci臋偶arkami (dzi臋ki kt贸remu zanurzasz si臋 pod wod臋), regulator (automat do oddychania) i octo (zapasowy aparat). Jest te偶 wiele r贸偶nych akcesori贸w, takich jak n贸偶 czy komputer, ale te s膮 najwa偶niejsze.

First, we had some theory and later we got into a small swimming pool and my divemaster Mitchell showed me there how to swim with all of this things (it was not so hard 馃檪 馃檪 ). He showed me how to pull out water from my mask which was really useful. I saw how to go up 聽and down or throw your regulator away and then get it again to your mouth. And the most important – I learnt the signs which divers use to communicate in water.

Najpierw mieli艣my troch臋 teorii, a potem zaj臋cia w basenie. I najwa偶niejsze – nauczy艂em si臋 znak贸w, jakimi porozumiewaj膮 si臋 nurkowie pod wod膮!

It was great, but then we went to the 鈥︹︹︹ea!!! It was awesome!!! First I was scared of the depth, but later I got used to it. I have one very funny story. I was diving at one meter. After a few minutes I though that maybe we can go deeper because we are on鈥 I looked at air indicator thinking that we are on one meter and I saw鈥 12 meters!!!! Wow! Deep under the water there was a聽 beautiful coral reef. When there is a coral reef, there are also beautiful animals. I saw many animals like lionfish (you can read about them in my post Derawan Magic Ocean) but I also saw a fish snake!!!!! At first I didn鈥檛 know that they are dangerous. That鈥檚 why first time when I saw a snake I went deeper to look at it. But next time, when I understood that they are dangerous, I started going up when I saw it. Do you know that when such a snake bites you you will die? They were so beautiful. Black with white stripes, looked like a zebra. I love diving!!!! My uncle was also diving. He is a professional diver and he was even diving at night. Because most of the water animals go out at night I would like to go diving at night, too. I am going to take the same course as my uncle.

By艂o super, ale p贸藕niej pop艂yn臋li艣my鈥 w morze!!! To dopiero by艂o niesamowite!!! P艂yn臋li艣my sobie na g艂臋boko艣ci jednego metra. Spojrza艂em na wska藕nik g艂臋boko艣ci i okaza艂o si臋, 偶e jeste艣my na 12 metrach!!! Wow, w og贸le tego nie zauwa偶y艂em, 偶e zeszli艣my tak g艂臋boko. Pod wod膮 by艂a przepi臋kna rafa koralowa. A jak jest rafa, to s膮 te偶 zwierz臋ta. Widzieli艣my mn贸stwo ryb, na przyk艂ad skrzydlic臋 (o kt贸rej mo偶ecie przeczyta膰 w moim po艣cie Derawan Magic Ocean), ale najbardziej niesamowite by艂o to, 偶e widzia艂em prawdziwego w臋偶a morskiego! Z pocz膮tku nie wiedzia艂em, 偶e one s膮 niebezpieczne. Dlatego obni偶y艂em si臋, 偶eby zobaczy膰 go z bliska. Dopiero kiedy instruktor powiedzia艂 mi, 偶e one s膮 bardzo gro藕ne i znowu go zobaczy艂em przy kolejnym nurkowaniu, wtedy szybko si臋 odsun膮艂em聽馃槈 Od uk膮szenia takiego w臋偶a mo偶na nawet umrze膰!!! W臋偶e l膮dowe to potrafi膮, a te nie. Uwielbiam nurkowa膰!!! M贸j wujek te偶 tam nurkowa艂. On jest profesjonalnym nurkiem i nurkowa艂 nawet w nocy. Dlatego chcia艂bym kiedy艣 te偶 zanurkowa膰 w nocy. Mam nadziej臋, 偶e pewnego dnia zrobi臋 taki kurs, jaki ma m贸j wujek 馃槈

Look what I found in the water!!! I took them out only for a moment to show my parents because they were alive 馃槈 Our guide was surprised that we wanted to put them back in water but I was stubborn 馃槈

A takie cuda mo偶na by艂o znale藕膰 pod wod膮!!!

In my next post I will tell you about my trip to Sumatra or maybe about Bohol. So see you. Bye!

Dozo!
